Pharmacy is the health profession that links the health sciences with the chemical sciences, and it is charged with ensuring the safe and effective use of medication. D.Pharmacy is a 2 year course opted after +2 (Sciences) mostly with an intention to become a pharmacist and the mission of all pharmacists is to help people and the society, make the best use of their medicines.
After the completion of the program, candidates can register with the State Pharmacy Council. This will qualify them for starting a Pharmacy or Chemist store of their own. Therefore, they can stock and sell the medicines.
Recently, Economic recession is not affected to any pharmaceutical industry. This is because demand of drugs will not suppress ever. Lot of new problems regarding health and sanitation are arising day by day. Lot of work is there for pharmacist to take care of public sector.
Pharmacists dispense prescription medications to patients and offer expertise in the safe use of prescriptions. They also may conduct health and wellness screenings, provide immunizations, oversee the medications given to patients, and provide advice on healthy lifestyles.
Some pharmacists who own their pharmacy or manage a chain pharmacy spend time on business activities, such as inventory management. Pharmacists also must take continuing education courses throughout their career to keep up with the latest advances in pharmacological science.
With most drugs, pharmacists use standard dosages from pharmaceutical companies. However, some pharmacists create customized medications by mixing ingredients themselves, a process known as compounding.
The course commences as per the date prescribed by Yenepoya University, most likely in the first week of August. The exact date will be communicated by the Institution.
